Australian College of Dramatic Arts Statement of Commitment

The Australian College of Dramatic Arts (ACDA) is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive culture where every student is valued and supported. This commitment extends to all students, regardless of race, ability, gender, sexuality, or background. ACDA ensures that all individuals can fully participate in the learning environment and reach their potential through equitable practices and a curriculum that reflects diverse perspectives.

To achieve this, ACDA implements a range of strategies. Inclusive policies are embedded throughout the institution, ensuring that fairness and respect are at the core of all practices. Reasonable adjustments are offered for students with disabilities, allowing equal access and opportunity for everyone. The curriculum is designed to teach respect and celebrate different cultures, promoting understanding and appreciation of diversity.

By building strong partnerships with home schools, the college creates a cohesive environment that addresses stereotypes, promotes fairness, and supports the success of all students. These efforts collectively contribute to an atmosphere where diversity is not only acknowledged but embraced as a strength and includes:

    • fostering a sense of safety for all students and staff
    • policies against discrimination
    • engendering diverse perspectives; disabilities and diverse backgrounds
    • reflecting diverse identities in communications, curriculum and resources
    • providing reasonable adjustments to ensure fairness
    • professional development on inclusive practices with all staff; engendering fairness, respect and empathy.
